Announcement of Election for Park Commissioner of Palatine Park District Consolidated Election April 4, 2023

Palatine Park District will be accepting Nominating Petitions from December 12, 2022 through December 19, 2022 for one (1) six-year term Park Commissioner. The office of Park Commissioner is an elected position with no financial compensation. One Palatine Park Board Commissioner will be selected by vote of the community in the Consolidated Election to be held on April 4, 2023 for a 6-year term.

Individuals who wish to run for a seat on the Park Board must be at least 18 years of age and a Palatine Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election. Potential candidates are allowed to circulate petitions beginning Tuesday September 20, 2022. A minimum of 171 signatures is required to complete the Nonpartisan petition for nomination, which is two percent of the 8,574 ballots cast in the last (2021) Park District election. The official filing dates are Monday through Friday of December 12 to 16, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday December 19, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Filing documents are to be delivered to the administrative office at Community Center located at 250 East Wood Street on the second floor. If multiple candidates file simultaneously a lottery for the ballot placement will be held on December 19 at 5 p.m.

Election information for the April 4, 2023 Palatine Park District Board of Commissioner election is posted on the Palatine Park District website: www.palatineparks.org and interested candidates can view or download the Election Candidate Guide at www.elections.il.gov when available.
