Election for 2027 Park Commissioner of Palatine Park District

Palatine Park District will be accepting Nominating Petitions from November 16, 2026, through November 23, 2026, for two (6) six-year terms and one (1) unexpired four-year term Park Commissioner. The office of Park Commissioner is an elected position with no financial compensation. Three Palatine Park Board Commissioners will be selected by vote of the community in the Consolidated Election to be held on April 6, 2027, for 6-year terms and a 4-year term.


Individuals who wish to run for a seat on the Park Board must be at least 18 years of age and a Palatine Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election. Potential candidates are allowed to circulate petitions beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2026. A minimum of two percent of the 8,011 ballots cast in the last (2025) Park District election are required to complete the Nonpartisan petition for nomination. The official filing dates are Monday, November 16 through Friday, November 23, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Monday, November 23, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Filing documents are to be delivered to the administrative office at the Community Center located at 250 East Wood Street. If multiple candidates file simultaneously, a lottery for the ballot placement will be held on November 30 at 8:30 a.m.
